AHEPA Christmas Family Feeding Project

For The Weirton Christian Center & Dunbar Recreation Center

The chapter was asked if it was possible to provide food for the children and family members when the children are off for the two week Christmas and New Year break. As most of us know that the children eat at school every day but may not eat well when on a two week break.

President James Banketas is announcing that this project was approved by the membership. He has appointed Steve Psaros as chairman. A meeting was held and a list was generated of the families. The list consists of 35 families which include 95 children and 57 adults. A list of the various food products has been generated. The list of 24 products will include food for breakfast, lunch, supper.

The plan is to pick up the products on December the 17th. Arrangements have been made with the Weirton Geriatric Center to store the products in their Conference Center.

The AHEPA members are being asked to provide the manpower to unload the products at the Conference Center. Discussions are in progress to bag and deliver as a joint project with the members of the Ahepa and the Weirton Rotary Club. The proposed date to bag and deliver is Saturday December the 21st.

DUE TO THE GENEROSITY OF A MAJOR DONOR AND A MINOR DONOR THE PROJECT WILL BE PAID IN FULL.

NO DONATIONS ARE REQUIRED
